Chamber sees Siloam Springs as an oasis of opportunity
By Arthur Hulbert | Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce
Arthur Hulbert , President and CEO of the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce , talks about his time working at the chamber and the growth of Siloam Springs in the last year .
I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to have served the Siloam Springs community for the last four-and-a-half years .
I have met so many great people who care about the community and the culture and who have a persistent entrepreneurial spirit . The last four-and-a-half years have been an exciting time of chamber membership , growth and relevance through services offered to the business community , nonprofits and schools . We were all reminded through the global pandemic a couple of years ago that life is short and we should not take things for granted .
Siloam Springs is an oasis of opportunity with an influx of new businesses , jobs and people from around the country . Siloam Springs is a safe , clean and friendly community with a beautiful downtown and outstanding educational and healthcare opportunities for people of all ages .
The community has a strong history of warm , positive Christian values influenced by entities such as John Brown University , Dayspring , KLRC and many quality places to worship . Siloam Springs is also home to many biking and hiking trails as well as a worldclass kayak park on the Illinois River . These things help make Siloam Springs a great place to live , work , raise a family , grow a business and play .
Several events and accomplishments of the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce from the last year include : the Dogwood Festival ; helping form the Western Benton County Partnership with the focus on helping the region with workforce , childcare , infrastructure , broadband and grants ; the continuation of a women and minority scholarship fund that provides resources to business people who might not otherwise have access ; hosting an entrepreneurial business plan competition and donating $ 10,000 to the winners ; hosting a large women ’ s conference in Siloam Springs featuring Jenny Marrs of HGTV ’ s “ Fixer to Fabulous ;” collaboration with starting Fourth Friday events downtown ; collaboration and helping to provide resources and helping raise over $ 10,000 to bring back the “ Pool of Siloam ” Christmas displays created from local artists , which demonstrated history and hope for our world through Christ ; continuing of events for connection in the community such as First Friday Coffees , CEO and HR Round Tables , ribbon cuttings , candidate forums , golf tournaments , SBA business panel discussion , honor graduate luncheon , back-to- school breakfast for Siloam Springs Public Schools , an annual Chamber of Commerce banquet

The Siloam Chamber has a concerted focus on improving our ability to serve the Hispanic business community with an interpreter and outreach materials in Spanish . Lastly , the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce has also continued the operation of the Siloam Springs Makerspace with one of the largest 3-D printers in the state and last year was a resource for the University of Arkansas Faye Jones School of Architecture and Interior Design .
