hen interior
designer and
architect Vern Yip
begins to talk
about home décor, his voice elevates, and his words come a bit
quicker: His excitement is evident.
It is clear he wants everyone to
have a home they love, which
includes those who can’t afford to
hire a design pro like himself.
In previous years, Yip served as
a design expert on TLC’s “Trading
Spaces.” Now, he is a judge for
HGTV’s “Design Star” and host of
“Deserving Design,” a feel-good
show that provides room makeovers for inspirational people or
families – so it fits that Yip is passionate about empowering people to make their homes special.
Yip’s desire to make people’s
homes their ultimate destination for relaxation and peace
prompted him to partner with the Home Shopping Network to
create an affordable, high-quality home décor line. The products
have delightful ornate details that he is known to prefer, and
they give people the tools to make each room remarkable.
“I wanted people to have the ability to have choices,” Yip
says. That’s why the line includes traditional, contemporary
and eclectic styles to make sure there’s something for everyone. “We must have detail for people who are crazy about

detail – like nail-head detailing
for the beds. You can get neutrals
or items with a big pop of color
if that is what you feel.”
The line features pieces such as
bedding, furniture, window treatments, rugs, lighting and decorations that can work in all types of
homes.
“My goal? I would love for you
to walk through your door and
have a smile from ear to ear
because your environment makes
you feel joyful,”Yip says.
Yip inserted his trademark
design flourishes into everything
he does. He draws from his personal style, in addition to his
Chinese roots.
