unit. People were swarming about ; inside and out, on the streets -
and in the passageway leading t o my downstairs apartment. I tried
busying my brain with philology, the story of Purim, but my mind
rattled from the vibrations above . Might there be floozies amongst
the female guests, one of whom I could entice to smoke a joint
with me?
The point being made here is fretful and weighty because it
involves a self-introspection that involves a foregone conclusio n
of my culpability. I find it hard to believe that the story concerns
myself; I have to study and publicize the ramifications in an effort
to have the m realized in the scope of the human situation. I must
dare to mention the details as much as humanly poss ible in order
to understand, and visualize my unique place ment in the
contradictions described in the accounts narrated below. I have
studied the fields of anthropology, history, humanities,
psychology, neurology, physics, politics, and religion . I have bee n
left with the impression that the events portrayed were a message
that enco mpasses a realm of knowledge that had to be brought
specially to my at tention, "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts
of man?"
The spirit within me galloped heavily over a distracting terrain
filled with potholes of desire. This brings to mind a Purim joke I

enacted on our stage. A horse switched places with the Pharao h
when Israelites crossed the Red Sea , the horse drowned and
Pharaoh ended up being the horse upon which rode Mordechai,
who refused to prostrate to human authority, and arose to glorify
the Jewish tradition in Shushan. The Curtain Rises while yet the
orchestra tunes and harmonizes the instrumental asse mbly in the
pit beneath the stage. Oh no ! We hear discordance, banal forces
running a muck. At the core of the universe spurt forth evil tidings,
but in measure and not vindictiveness. In the program, held
delicately and being read by the audience , appear the actors' na mes
and roles, and the synopsis of the theological significance of the
events portrayed in the dra ma.
Vashti and her hand maid will be played by two Christian young
humwomben. Acheshvaros will be played by Mr. Elephant, the
proprietor, and Rabbi of the Chabad house. I will star in my role
as Haman (licentious intentions) and double as Mordecha i
(righteous ethical convictions). The henc hmen of king
