I began painting pictures as an inheritance for my children, and found that the months' time that went into the effort I was communicating soul essence that w ent into the productions. Since that time, I have invested fervent love in an effort to paint Jewish themes that I give as presents to be hung in the homes o f my married children. Music is a precious aspect of the huma n experience: costumed apparel and dra ma make up many of the traditional religious or national celebrations, and should be incorporated into the living environment of the elderly. Participation in cera mics, knitting, and most importantly creative writing can give purpose and meaning to life. Computer Savvy: Many technological and electronic advance ments improve the quality of life, but none as much as a computer with an Internet connection. Many me mbers of the modern fa mily are spread out over great distances, and daily or even frequent contact between the m expensive, if at all possible. This is one of the marvelous advantages of the social networks, which bring people into contact with long lost acquaintances, as they post comments about things way back into our past. People can see pictures a nd videos of their great nieces and nephews, grandchildren, children and siblings. We can post our thoughts about situations as they happen, and get the feeling o f contributing to society. Sitting at a desk in their front roo m, a person can determine schedules for mass-transportation; clarify opening hours of the medical, library, arranged purchases fro m stores and markets ' services such as needed on a moment's notice, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. One need no longer stand find a parking spot, stand in gruelingly long lines to take care o f banking, such as transfers or stock purchases, not to mentio n that we can almost do away with postal services using the PC applications for electronic mail. To do so, however, requires a little training, a lot of patience, and a not exorbitant financia l outlay. Such services can be acco mmodated on a community level, by either governments, charity organizations, or private enterprises. The main deal is seeing to the availability of suc h services. Cooking: I have a distinct impression that the wo men will typically manage better than do men, in the area of food preparation. I've known old men that had to take their meals in 276
