the west and deprecation of the Indian nation, financial prowess
of the Eastern states, cultural objectification of the female in the
women's population, African Americans, grease of the auto
industry, the "talking Movies, and then TV. The image o f
manliness cast upon screen and billboards was the macho ma n
taking control of the individual situation in which his existence
is rooted.
My personality, as such, is fashioned of the anti-macho, anti-
materialistic, anti-establishment attitude that swept the streets
of Chicago, Washington D.C., Haight Asbury, and college
campuses during the late-middle 20 t h century. Have my ethica l
strivings been strengthened by the experiences ? I adapted to a
role of being a mission impossible character who forever must
disguise his identity in order to protect the well -being of those
with whom he shares a devoted existence (loved ones). The
reason is that those who perpetuate evil can overco me every
obstacle to persecute conscionable conduct as practiced by their
fellow man. Whereas the simple guy is not a liberty to inflict
pain on any being, because of those trying to gain control ove r
them frightening the m into acquiescence before anyone who
they would dare to oppose the oppression to which subjected .
Spring is around the corner a nd the winter has just begun.
I was amazed to see the sa me old rocking swing on the
wooden plank porch that draped the façade of Happy's humble
dwelling, 'tis there he'd await my return after sha king the trave l
off my head, shoulders arms and down to the f inger tips. One
can neither ignore the fishy smell; wafting upon airwaves fro m
the nearby beach, nor avoid the cats that see med indigenous to
the neighborhood. I was impressed by the proliferation of leafy
plant, trees, and other vegetation that proffered pleasant scents :
clean oxygenated air and filled the atmosphere of his hom e ! I
arrived to partake of his evening meal of ho megrown veggies,
organic whole grain, and home made food that he grows almost
to the degree of self-sustenance, Happy Joe is one of th ose rare
creatures who lives a happiness he makes in concert with mother
Earth and father nature.
Happy's special talent was to hypnotize and give his subject
immense pleasure to achieve conscious visualization , vivid
perceptions of whatever he could imagine. This skill can only
be transmitted by a free mind, and even a precious mo ment under
