Why didn’t I think of that for my corner?
Corners are often overlooked when we are searching for a few extra square feet of space to utilize in
our homes. We’ve compiled our favourite ideas for transforming dead space into practical areas.
Stack It Up
Many of us are living in condos
where the ceilings are high but floor
space is limited. When challenged
with integrating a home office in
such a space, consider this office
desk concept by Peter Morris
Architects! We love the storage
space that the high shelving creates
while utilizing wall space that would
otherwise have been wasted.

Just Around the Corner
Anyone who has shared a bathroom can
appreciate the importance of a
his-and-hers vanity. At times, the layout of
an en-suite leaves us with two small wall
areas where we can potentially place the
sink. This bathroom perfectly depicts how
we should tackle such an awkward space
with a double sink cabinet that wraps
around the corner.
We love this bedroom concept by Tommy Chambers
Interiors! In tight spaces, a corner bed can be a lifesaver!
Place your bed in the corner of your bedroom and
customize a beautiful headboard that spans the length of
the two sides of the bed. This will create interest and best
of all, it will save you valuable floor space!

Padded Walls
Bank On It
You can count on a
banquette to help transform
a small corner nook into
a beautiful dining area!
The high-back banquette
elongates the space and
creates a statement in an
otherwise forgotten corner.

Out With the Old,
In With the New
Traditionally corner
cabinets housed “Lazy
Susans” which were
hard to use. A corner
cabinet with drawers and
a built-in microwave is
much more user-friendly.
