The Rios Group Proud of Work
on Globe Life Field Project
The Rios Group, Inc. is proud
to among the hundreds of
companies working together to
make Globe Life Field in Arlington
a reality.
TRG, a minority-woman-owned
company founded in June
2012, specializes in subsurface
utility engineering and utility
coordination. As a subcontractor
working with Pacheco Koch on
the Globe Life Field construction
project, TRG was tasked with
locating an electric duct that
conflicted with a proposed
bridge. The Rangers’ new
retractable-roof ballpark, which
opens this month,
is a great addition
to The Rios Group’s
growing portfolio,
President Rosa
Navejar said.
“We pride ourselves
as being one of
the many vendors
selected to work
on the Globe Life
Field project. While
10
we work on projects both large
and small throughout Texas, this
project is so important not only
to the entire DFW community,
but to so many visitors each
year,” Navejar said.
As part of its public-private
partnership with the City of
Arlington to build the ballpark,
the Rangers set out to not
only to create meaningful
opportunities for minority-
owned and women-owned
businesses to participate in
construction, but also to help
build their capacity, resources
and network. Overall, more than
110 M/WBE firms
and 10 advocacy
groups worked
on the Globe Life
Field project, and
more than $287
million, or 29
percent, of total
awarded contract
dollars were
awarded to MWBE
firms, according to
the latest figures.
“The commitment that the
City of Arlington has made to
include M/WBE firms is huge.
Many times, we hear that larger
firms cannot find M/WBE firms
to work with. The outreach and
the relationships built has meant
a lot to the minority and women
business community. You not only
talked the talk, but walked the
walk as well,” Navejar said.
The Rios Group, whose industry
recognition includes being
named Oncor’s 2017 Rising Star
of the Year for Diverse Suppliers
and by the City of Dallas- Office
of Business Diversity as one of
the 2019 4E Award recipients
for Excellence, has successfully
completed work in Arlington
before the ballpark. Other
projects have included the
McNutt and Northstar elementary
schools, sidewalks, and various
roadways across the city,
including Bowen Road, Wet N
Wild Way and Eden Road/New
York Avenue.
