To the Residents of Arlington and all Rangers’ Fans:

It certainly is an exciting time for the Texas Rangers organization.
On the field, we believe we have the talent to successfully defend our back-to-back American League West Division titles and compete deep into the post-season. It should be a fun and exciting season at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Our current ballpark has served us well for more than two decades, and there is no doubt Globe Life Park in Arlington will be the site of even more memorable moments for the next three years.
But I can’ t tell you how delighted we are to be working with the City of Arlington to open the finest ballpark in the major leagues for the 2020 season. A baseball park is a very special place, and the Rangers are committed to providing the best possible experience for our fans. The construction of the new facility with a retractable roof and so many other amenities will allow us to enhance that experience in a manner that is not presently possible. It will be state-of-the-art while retaining the same beauty of our current park.
I want to thank Mayor Jeff Williams and the City Council as well as the residents of Arlington for their outstanding support in making this new ballpark a reality. And I want to commend all of the City leadership for their dedication and assistance as the project moves forward.
The Rangers and Arlington have enjoyed a great partnership for 46 years, and we are excited about the possibility of calling this City home for many years to come. We have selected as the project’ s design architect the nationally renowned sports and entertainment firm HKS, which has an outstanding track record of designing iconic sports facilities, both in North Texas and around the country. We are well into the design phase, and HKS ' vision will incorporate all of the features that will make this venue the best in Major League Baseball.
We are also proud to be working with Arlington and The Cordish Companies on the development and construction of the Texas Live! project, which will open in 2018. Commercial development in the area has been a vision of the Rangers for a number of years, and the construction of these two projects will give Arlington the leading sports and entertainment district in the country.
Thank you again for all of your support.
Sincerely,

Ray C. Davis
