Arlington —
October 4, 1996
More than 50,000 Texas Rangers
fans were in attendance to see
the Yankees and Rangers square
off in the 1996 American League
Division Series. The Rangers
went on to lose that game 3-2,
despite an incredible 8-inning
performance from starting pitcher
Darren Oliver. Despite the loss, the
game marks a special moment,
both for the Rangers and the
City of Arlington, being the first-
ever home playoff game in The
American Dream City.
