This twenty-fifth title written by Annie walks readers through forty step-by-step projects for every room in the house including DIY projects for walls, furniture, floors, and fabrics. Clear instructions and helpful tips accompany each project so that no detail goes unnoticed. Common and unusual techniques such as stencilling, printing, waxing, and dyeing are featured. Readers also find out how to combine colour for different styles, how to tap into their imagination, and how to express their own creativity by painting patterns freehand.

NEW GILDING WAXES This year, Annie is debuting Gilding Wax, which is a quick and easy way to add a metallic touch to your painted furniture. Annie advises applying the wax to ornate carvings and mouldings to enhance texture and detailing or creating gilded shapes, lines, and designs using your favorite Annie Sloan Stencil. Colours consist of warm gold, bright gold, bright silver, dark silver, and copper.
• Getting started: Squeeze a small amount of Gilding Wax onto a lint-free cloth. A little goes a long way, so start sparingly. Gently apply the Gilding Wax onto the surface, allowing some of the paint
below to show through. This creates a distressed look. To cover the surface more densely, add a little more Gilding Wax. If you apply too much, don’ t worry. Simply remove it by wiping on a little clear Chalk Paint Wax with a clean, lint-free cloth. Buff the following day for more lustre.
• Aftercare: Wash hands and brushes with warm water and soap immediately after use. Results may vary depending on the previous treatment of the surface. Always test on a small area first. To maintain the finish, wash with mild soapy water and a soft damp cloth. Not recommended for areas with a lot of water. Not suitable for outdoor use.
