The Dauchot Family Home in Palos Verdes Estates for Luke and Randy Dauchot was a three-part remodel to a sprawling, (mostly) single-story home that needed to be updated to accommodate working professionals whose family was moving from adolescence into the maturity of a graduating high school senior. When Miles Pritzkat approached Dave Baldwin and team with this dynamic project, Phase 1 began with a significant kitchen remodel just in time for a quickly approaching Thanksgiving holiday. The Baldwin Construction team expertly built and completed an exquisitely entertaining kitchen in time for the annual Thanksgiving festivities—the perfect backdrop for a large family of local and out-of-town guests to enjoy their turkey. After the winter holidays were over, Phase 2 of the project was released, which included an added master suite, re-configuring and upgrading finishes throughout the existing structure and an extensive exterior site plan, complete with a pool renovation, large fire pit and expansive deck for a family that loves to entertain. With the Dauchot family living through the construction, Phase 2 was another success story—accomplishing their creative goals while maintaining the sanity necessary to balance the day-to-day activities of a busy family. On the heels of this latest achievement,
Randy and Luke chose to keep the team together as they moved into Phase 3 of their project, which consisted of a large excavation under the existing footprint of the house to provide a basement level with 8+-feet-tall ceilings that housed a family theatre room, game room, wine cellar, guest suite and office space. Through the course of three successive years of construction, with small breaths of time to energize the team for the next phase of construction, Baldwin Construction was blessed to be a part of a truly magnificent project.
