The third floor is an open concept floor plan, including floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to an expansive ocean view. Though none of the spaces are large, the house is complete and flows beautifully from a casual family room nook to a living area to the dining area. “The pair of chairs in the family room were rescued from the attic,” continues Janet. Closely resembling Paul McCobb chairs of the 1950s, the light maple armchairs add a refreshing dose of originality and a bit of history to the interior. The kitchen features dark wood cabinets with crisp white Caesarstone quartz countertops. “One of my very favorite features is that the countertops are seamless, and there’s no grout,” says Janet. “The kitchen barstools were a splurge,” she smiles. They are by Cherner and constructed from red gum tree wood from Australia. They represent another nod to mid-century design when Cherner chairs debuted in 1958. /oursouthbay oursouthbay.com 23
