Men’s Health Day to be held June 17 at
Citizens Memorial Hospital
Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) and
the Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center at CMH
(CJBCC) are encouraging men to be active in
their health by hosting a free men’s health
day on Friday, June 17 from 9 a.m. to noon
in the CMH Community Rooms located at
the hospital, 1500 N. Oakland Ave., Bolivar.
June is National Men’s Health Month
and according to the Centers of Disease
Control (CDC), women are 100 percent
more likely to visit the doctor for an annual
examination and preventative services than
men. “Men’s Health Day is an opportunity
for CMH to raise awareness of preventable
health problems and educate and encourage
men, of all ages, to be active and participate
in their health,” says Donald J. Babb, Chief
Executive Officer/Executive Director of
CMH.
CMH will offer discounted blood tests:
Lipid Panel ($25); Blood CMP ($20); TSH/
Free T4 ($30); CBC ($15); Pt/INR Screening
($20); A1C Screening ($20) and physician’s
order only PSA ($30). For more accurate
results, please fast prior to your blood draw.
The PSA test is a blood sample and does not
require fasting.
Other screenings and wellness information available at the event will include:
chair massages; colorectal screening kits;
hearing; blood pressure; height and weight;
smoking cessation; weight management; nutrition; University of Missouri Extension;
Central Care Cancer Center; and the following CMH clinics and services: CMH Eye
Specialty Center; Carrie J. Babb Cancer Center; Southside Medical Center; CMH CardioPulmonary Rehab; CMH Home Care Services; CMH Long-Term Care; CMH
Parkview Wellness; CMH Neurology Clinic/
Missouri Memory Center; CMH Urological
Clinic; CMH Parkview Orthopaedic Clinic
and more. Refreshments will be served and
door prizes provided. Women are encouraged to attend with their loved ones.
