2 Contents Letter from the editor I n this issue we are delighted to have Patrick Bradley’s home on our cover. ‘Grillagh Water’ designed by Patrick Bradley Architects has gone on to win several awards regionally and nationally. Patrick is a RIBA/ Multi Award winning Architect from Belfast and established his practice in 2008 with offices both in Mahera, Northern Ireland and London. He has gained the public’s attention after appearing on Channel 4’s ‘Grand Designs’ and ‘House of the Year’ On page 15 we have our kitchen special. Here we cover modern kitchen trends in the homes hub and the planning, inspiration and the friendliness of ‘the heart of the home’. For many, it’s the most important room in the house, and without doubt the most expensive outlay. The kitchen is without doubt the nucleus of the modern home. Using a good kitchen designer/fitter will help you to find the perfect balance between beauty and functionality. We would highly recommend speaking to Cash and Carry Kitchens, In-House at the Panelling Centre and Cherrymore Kitchens. With decades of experience between them you will be getting solid advice. We also have array of properties from across Ireland featured. What was meant to become a ‘village’ of passive houses in the eco-village of Cloughjordan in County Tipperary is currently the home of one such house. We speak with Architect Paul McNally about the passive house in question.
