Note from the Editor
Digitally Enabled Adaptive and Resilient or DEAR as we refer to the program and to the group of amazing women we meet in every Cohort . This issue is dedicated to those from the East and Coastal regions , the amazing women who joined Cohort 2 that simply amazed us and showed us how adaptive and resilient they are .
This group of women have not only dreamt of who they want to become , but they have brought their dreams to reality and are making a difference . Showing the next generation that it is possible . We have seen these women confirm that through commitment and dedication , networking and collaboration , encouraging and learning , one can grow their dream .
It is interesting when we started the course we were not sure how many would be committed and stay to the end . But as the course work began , we saw a very different level of commitment and dedication .
From those who would stop by the side of the road and join the online sessions . Some lost loved ones , had a patient in the hospital , while some were patients themselves , and others were barely making ends meet , but faithfully logged on every week . Some travelled overnight to attend some sessions physically , others opened up their homes to host those travelling from the different regions . They participated , saw new business opportunities and asked questions . Some went back to the drawing board and re-strategized , while others improved on their offerings and expanded .
It is amazing how human beings are so adaptive and resilient . Even more so , the East and Coast Region Cohort just brought collaboration and networking to another level . We celebrate these women who dared to be part of the DEAR East and Costal Cohort .
The program was concluded by holding a Kenya Cottage Industry Expo Mombasa Edition . It is amazing how those from Nairobi travelled all that way to be part of the Coastal Edition and the networking and collaboration that took place was worth hosting it .
We look forward to more collaborations and networking across the country . Uniting adaptive and resilient businesses and sharing experiences along the way .
