Thanks to the detailed class attended , I have now understood what it takes to get my business off the ground , the importance of registering your business , developing a business and marketing plan and how to harness technology to make it easier to run my business from day-to-day .
Account keeping has been a challenge for me . The session held on this has finally clarified this . The pricing module was particularly important to me since for years I ’ ve struggled with how to charge for my services . I ’ m now more confident in terms of positioning myself as an expert and charging accordingly .
Pitching has always seemed daunting to me . I often wonder how to market my business even to friends and family .
However , I now know what investors look for including a unique selling point , solid business plan , scalability , etc .
I ’ ve met some amazing ladies whose innovativeness and persistence in the ever-changing business environment has been inspiring . During the course , we were placed in small Circles that held us accountable . I have been given ideas to better my business and have also been challenged to get out of my comfort zone and even start other businesses ! Since we ’ re in different sectors , I now have contacts for different goods and services that I might require , after all , I ’ m all about supporting women-owned businesses .
Even after graduating from the DEAR course , I ’ m looking forward to seeing my business grow , solidifying the friendships I have formed and partnering with other graduates and the wider Kayana and Cottage Industry community .
I ’ m truly grateful for the course . It couldn ’ t have come at a better time !
