I probably shouldn’t admit this, but I’ve spent a lot of time in bars over the years. In college, my friends loved karaoke and
while you couldn’t get me on stage, I was happy to go along and watch. My brother also owned a bar that hosted karaoke
now and then. Some participants chose songs to show off their vocal stylings (or their imagined talents in some cases), but
the most popular performers were always the ones who chose a song others knew well. Crowd participation always wins
