Nalanda University is a 5th century university that rose to prominence during the Gupta Empire. One of the first residential universities in the world, students had to undergo an interview process to gain admissions. Legend says that university gates were manned by scholarly gatekeepers. Students could gain admission only after passing the interviews at every gate.

Sun Temple, Aurangabad

The Sun Temple of Aurangabad in Bihar is one of the rare combinations. It faces its back to the rising Sun and waits till noon for its generous rays to fill in. The presiding deities are Surya, Brahma and Vishnu.

This temple too has been constructed in Nagar style and is a bit like Konark temple.

It feels as if you are there right within the temple premises of Konark temple.

This place is full of enthusiasm mainly during the Chhath Puja, that is the worshipping of female part of the Sun God.

Valmiki National Park

Other than the Valmiki Tiger Reserve, the temples here are fascinating. Completely in the jungles within the mountains makes us a good walk. The places of importance are defined. The temple where Goddess Sita is said to depart is present right here. Half of it is in Nepal! You won't even get to know when you reached Nepal (Foreign!) and came back.

You can go up there then come back to India have your lunch and move via the Dam to Nepal again. You can reach out for the Triveni Sangam and the (Foreign) markets. Indian rupees do work there.
