A P lace to B elong
NSSRA is committed to providing quality recreation programs and services
that enrich lives and give every participant a place to belong.
This past year your philanthropic support was invaluable. Due to your generosity, we were able to provide
scholarships for...
• 32 participants to attend 12 camps
• Participants to enjoy 53 Saturday programs, also providing
weekend respite for their families
• 8 of our Special Olympics athletes to receive training for both
team and individual sports
Thanks to your support this year we were also able to purchase a new bus, which we have affectionately named Oscar. Bus
transportation not only gives our participants a chance to socialize before and after programs, but also provides our participants’
families a significant time-saving convenience and a peace of mind.
We need your financial support to continue providing a wide variety of recreation programs, as well as scholarships for
those in need and high-quality, accessible transportation for participants. Yet, we also need your social support. Likely you
are already familiar with NSSRA’s significance for participants and in our communities, but many are not. We need your help to
change that.
This holiday season we are launching a social media campaign to share the stories of belonging that illustrate
the rich community we have together, using #IAMNSSRA. We encourage everyone to join in, whether you are a
participant or family member, donor, staff member, partner agency or community member. Each of our stories tells an important
piece of the powerful narrative of NSSRA, and helps our friends and neighbors better understand who we are and why we exist.
So, this year, we are not only asking you to give, but to share.
Thank you for your generosity. Your support really does give each participant
place of to
belong
in the Special
NSSRA
community!

As many of you know, NSSRA is actively searching for a new, permanent home. We will continue to keep participants,
families, staff, partner agencies, donors and community members advised of our search and upcoming capital campaign.
