LETTER FROM THE RACE DIRECTOR
Thank you for participating in the Hogeye Marathon & Relays and Sunday FUNDay !
We are proud to be hosting the 48th Hogeye Marathon , the 8th year in Springdale . From the first marathon , which was a challenge to run a “ Boston Mountain ” marathon , the Hogeye has grown into an anticipated marathon locally , regionally and nationally . Every year since 1977 , runners have traveled from across the country to participate in what was originally a course from Fayetteville to the “ small wide spot in the road ” that was and is Hogeye , Arkansas . Through the years the Hogeye has given back , by raising & donating to other local charitable causes . In addition , Hogeye Events , Inc . continues to promote health and fitness using running & walking as our medium . Through the years other distances have been added including the relays , which have taken different forms . The relay is actually how this Race Director became involved in the event . Many people count the Hogeye Marathon or Half Marathon as their very first , especially if they are from the Northwest Arkansas region .
I would like to personally thank many , starting with the race committee . It takes a considerable amount of time to serve in this capacity and our planning committee is made up of very accomplished folks who all have busy careers and lives . So , a most heartfelt thank you to them . I would also like to thank the City of Springdale for helping us provide a safe course , and a fun , scenic place to go for a run . The Springdale city services deserve praise for going the “ extra mile ” to help make you feel safe and have the best experience .
Our volunteers are top-notch , and I think you will notice as many before you have , these Northwest Arkansas people are pretty nice and downright exceptional . Thank you for giving of your time to help make the Hogeye amazing !
Last , but certainly not least , thank you to our incredible sponsors ! Without the donation of your funds and resources , the 48th year of the Hogeye Marathon , and 27th year of the Hogeye Half Marathon would not be possible . Please thank your volunteers while you are enjoying the races . I hope you have a snout-full of fun and get that runners ’ high from the The One For All ! - The Hogeye ! Please tell your friends we will be back in
2025 , April 12-13 .
Best wishes on a spectacular race ! Tabby Holmes , Race Director
