CAREERS - GATEWAY PROGRAMME
Gateway 2020 had an exceptionally successful year despite the restrictions and challenges posed with COVID . COVID-19 certainly changed the way Gateway worked this year for both our students and employers . Our Gateway students rose to this challenge and demonstrated patience , adaptability and resilience . They worked diligently on their industry unit standards during the lockdown period , returned to school with renewed energy and made the most of every opportunity offered to them whilst out on work placement .
We have seen a record number of apprenticeships offered this year , a fantastic result of seven ���������������� ��������� ���� ���� ��������� � ���� of these apprenticeships were offered as a result
of students independently contacting potential employers and submitting a targeted CV which they worked on during their Gateway class . The beauty of Gateway Work Experience is the students can add this to the work section of their CV which is a clear indication to potential employers of their dedication to the industry . All of our students , whether heading out to the workforce , going on to tertiary study or returning for Year 13 , have secured their next steps in their chosen industry , narrowed down their choices and made informed decisions moving forward .
