Havelock North High School Senior A team played on Tuesday evenings in Term 1 . They finished runners up in the Senior Women ’ s grade .
HBSS Senior Girls Tournament . With Covid at its peak we were lucky enough to attend the HBSS futsal Championship on 22nd March . As not many schools could field teams we played a round robin and the two teams that finished on the most wins played a final . We attended without goalie Amy Jenkins , who was isolating due to Covid , as were key players Lily Foote and Caitlyn Turner . Aimee Kay was playing superbly and took her turn in goal when we played NGHS and , unfortunately , in the first half broke her arm . Despite this we managed to get into the final with Rakairoa Joyce , Sarah Ackerley , Imogen Kelly , Sydney Grant-Smith and Sian Llewellyn playing their hearts out . Unfortunately , we lost the final to NGHS but the girls kept fighting to the end .
Get 2 Go
This year ' s Get 2 Go Challenge saw three teams from HNHS compete , two of which finished on the podium , an amazing result . The disciplines involved were : kayaking , problem-solving , mountain biking and orienteering . Our teams displayed strong teamwork and adaptability in order to perform well in all of these areas . After competing in Get 2 Go , many members of the teams got the bug for adventure racing , going on to compete in longer events such as Go-4-12 , in which we had three teams of four competing in both the 6 and 12-hour mixed events . I ’ m sure next year will be another outstanding year for HNHS adventure racing .
