GATEWAY PROGRAMME

A Unique Gateway Year
This year Ashlee Payne and Kaia Sattler applied to pursue a career area that is not routinely offered in Gateway . Fortunately we were able to offer this with the support of the fabulous local company KILT providing a perfect work-placement .
KILT designed a structured programme for the Gateway Work Placement that ensured Ashlee and Kaia experienced every part of their business from concept , design , construction , marketing and retail . A truly unique experience provided by a truly unique local company .
Trades Academy
Each year we have a group of students who do their vocational training one day at week at Hawke ’ s Bay School Trades Academy at EIT . Year 13 student Ben Morison chose to do a Level 3 baking course to compliment his courses here at Havelock North High School , as he pursues a career in the hospitality industry . Ben was awarded the top student award for his class at the recent Trades Academy prizegiving . Ben will continue on to further study in hospitality at Queenstown Resort College in 2023 . We wish him all the best .
