LEADERS ’ REPORT
If there ’ s anything to say , it ’ s this : This year Kauri finally lived up to its motto . For as long as we can remember , previous house leaders have told us , “ Kauri for the Kill ” and for that same time we remember with dismay that we did anything but . We recall coming third and fourth year after year , but definitely not killing it . It was time for a change . We still remember the absolute exhilaration of winning our house swimming relay , everyone cheering on the sidelines and laser focus from the swimmers . The same can be said for house volleyball , which was almost a clean sweep . Army Challenge was another good win for us with all our house bearing the stress of the final challenge to come out tied for first place . To only focus on our victories , however , is to ignore the joy found in just talking to the members of Kauri . This year , instead of doing sign ups through house assemblies , we took a different route . We found it more effective and personal to visit form classes and just talk to students instead .
Although we didn ’ t win this year , we ’ re super happy with the growth that Kauri House has had . Second place !! We tend to have a reputation for losing , but this year we ’ ve been competing just as hard as anyone . We ’ re extremely excited to see what next year ’ s group does ; they ’ ll definitely be a strong group of leaders to look out for .
