Voix de Femmes is the auditioned female choir run by Mr Christensen . This year , Voix de Femmes welcomed many new members to the choir . At the Big Sing festival , we performed an arrangement of “ Welcome Home ”, originally performed by Dave Dobbyn and skillfully arranged by Brent Stewart , and a piece called “ The Tree of Song ”. We faced many challenges with Covid and illness this year , meaning that we didn ’ t get many opportunities to practise together as a whole choir . Covid also meant that we had to start the year singing outside , all a metre apart . This made Big Sing all the more special , as it was an opportunity for us all to come together and sing , despite all the trouble and uncertainty the choirs faced this year . We also got the opportunity to perform at the school ’ s annual Music Festival , which saw its return to it ’ s traditional form for the first time in three years . For this , we added “ Till there was you ” to our repertoire , which was a four part a cappella piece . This provided a good challenge for us , which ultimately payed off . Through all the tough times this year , it was comforting to still see the choirs flourish as it means that we ’ ll be able to be resilient to any future challenges we might face . We ’ d like to extend a massive thank you to Mr Christensen , who kept us passionate about choir even when it seemed sometimes that it couldn ’ t be done . Of course , also a huge thanks to Mr and Mrs Cargill , who helped us along this year . I ’ m looking forward to seeing the rest of the girls continue to grow next year and can ’ t wait to see what they all do next .
