Havelock North High School has a long tradition of success in the Smokefree Rockquest competition and this year has been no exception . Congratulations to Year 12 band Margo Sofa for winning the Hawke ’ s Bay Regional Final of the Smokefree Rockquest competition . After qualifying through the regional heats , held at Toi Toi , Margo Sofa produced their own music video of an original song which was subsequently judged the best band performance in Hawke ’ s Bay . The band of Year 12 Musicianship students made up of Oscar Wilton , Jasmine Macdonald , Will Knight , Sameer Al Sahariar and Charlie de Groot had a well-deserved win with their original song “ Old School Love ”. Congratulations also to Year 11 Musicianship students , Tori Halstead and Sydney Grant-Smith for their 2nd place in the Solo / Duo category .
