Friendly Film Club
“ The film club gives me the space to just geek out about movies ” - Reef B .
HNHS Film club is an inclusive space where people can come together and share their love of movies . The members meet up about once every two weeks on a Friday in the media class room .
“ Film club is nice because I like watching movies with other people ” - Josh F .
In the film club each member gets to pick out a movie to show the other members . When they want to show a film they will go to Mr Murfitt and ask when they may show it . On the day they show it they will first give a brief summary about the movie . After that everyone will watch the movie while relaxing and eating popcorn .
“ The reason I like film club is because it gives me a break from school and it helps me get to know other people with the same interests as me ” - Amelie C .
Once the film has finished they all have a mini discussion about the film and what they liked about it . During this time there is no judging and everyone is allowed to say their opinion . Some of the movies that have been watched so far are Pond Life , Troll 2 , House , Monster High : Boo York , Boo York and Casablanca .
“ Film club is a club that I am extremely content to be part of . I have had an interest in film but struggle to watch movies and films alone , being able to watch these films while being immersed in an environment that involves being able to talk to others makes watching movies far more enjoyable and lets me expand my ideas around the major themes of the films we watch . I enjoyed ‘ Monster High Boo York Boo

York ’ because it was an opportunity to experience the euphoria of childhood movies ” - Mills J .
Film club also goes on trips , this year they went to the New Zealand International Film Festival and watched the Decision to Leave which is a romantic thriller that follows an insomniac detective who is investigating a widow who is weirdly unconcerned with her husband ’ s death .
“ I like film club as we get to watch some interesting movies and we get to hangout with people ” - Rosie P .
They still have many films to enjoy from many different members of the film club . It doesn ’ t matter what genre you ’ re into or if you just want to watch the film and not discuss them . HNHS film club is a friendly place with friendly people who would love new people to join .

The team Yorkshire Tea consisted of myself , Gus Klingendar and Josh Folkers . There were three other teams - a Year 10 team helmed by Moss Warne and Louis Blair ; a Year 11 team featuring Amelie Charlton , Mills Jones and others ; and a Year 13 former students team including Bayedan Hales . We were now prepared . Yorkshire Tea , here we go . First , we set up our live stream for the announcement of our genre we ’ d be using for the next 48 hours . “ Please don ’ t be musical .
