Studying your full university-awarded degree with Fife College

Once you have successfully achieved your HND , we offer the option to continue and complete your degree with us . This is called a Franchise or Validated Degree .
This allows you to study for your full university-awarded degree at a Fife College campus without having to change institution . This means you can keep all your costs down , but also benefit from using university facilities like libraries , open days and even some lectures . At the end of your studies you ’ ll get a fully accredited Ordinary or Honours degree awarded by the university .
If you plan to study your degree with us after your HND , you will apply directly to Fife College .

If you have successfully completed HND Social Sciences at Fife College you also have the option to study your third year on campus for the following Open University degree :
BA ( Hons ) Social Sciences
NB : This degree follows the English model and allows an Honours degree to be completed in three years
We also offer degrees which are validated by Queen Margaret University :
BA ( Hons ) Creative Enterprise ( this degree allows progression from 11 different creative HNDs . Check out the website for more information )
BA ( Hons ) Childhood Studies
BA ( Hons ) Childhood Practice ( part-time study degree for SSSCregistered practitioners with at least two years ’ experience of working within an Early Learning and Childcare setting )
What if I don ’ t have the entry qualifications required for an HNC or HND course ?
We do have another option for you .
If you are an adult with few or no formal qualifications , and who has been out of full-time education for at least three years ( five , if you have existing qualifications at SCQF level 5 ), Fife College offers courses which are specifically designed to help you back into education .
Through our partnership with the Scottish Wider Access Programme ( SWAP ), these courses allow you – in a single year – to gain the qualifications required to progress to an HNC , HND or year 1 of a degree at university .
