This is year 2 of HND : 3D Interior Design , specialising in interior design . It is about designing spaces and places for people , creating interior schemes , and solving problems to improve the world around us . It enables you to develop creative , analytical , and technical skills for jobs in the interior design profession .
Entry Requirements
A minimum of 12 credits from the HNC : 3D Interior Design framework for entry to year 2 , including the HNC mandatory units
Those with qualifications of an equivalent nature could be given opportunities in APL ( Accreditation of Prior Learning ) or accelerated assessment to enter year 2 of the HND
External applicants will also require an appropriate portfolio of artwork in addition

This is a varied two-year course that provides a valuable insight into the diverse technical aspects which are fundamental to the architectural profession . You will undertake 15 credits in your first year , which will give you the equivalent of an HNC in Built Environment . Following this , you will progress to year 2 where the remaining credits will see you achieve an HND in Architectural Technology .

One of the following :
One Higher at Grade C or above in a relevant STEM discipline such as Graphic Communication ; plus three National 5s at Grade C or above , which must include Maths
National Certificate : Built Environment SCQF Level 6 ( with additional Maths for Construction Technician unit )
National Certificate : Civil Engineering SCQF Level 6 ( with additional Maths for Construction Technician unit )
Level 2 Design Engineer Construct
Foundation Apprenticeship : Civil Engineering SCQF Level 6
Another relevant course at SCQF Level 6
Relevant industry experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

Design and manufacture projects are integrated to fully enhance the design and make ethos and the course aims to enable you to develop innovative and created design for furniture related artefacts .

Mature students will be considered on an individual basis , based on a portfolio of art and design work in your field of study and experience
Portfolio as required or evidence of project / artefact
You may be required to take part in an informal conversation as part of the application process . This group / individual conversation may be an information session , a portfolio discussion , or a skills based exercise
Internal Candidates

National Certificate : Art and Design SCQF Level 6
Another appropriate creative course at SCQF Level 6
Further Study
This course has been designed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding necessary to start a career in quantity surveying . It is also ideal if you are already working in the industry and are looking to gain a promotion . During the first year of HND : Quantity Surveying , you will achieve all the units necessary for the HNC : Built Environment group award .
