Computer animation is experiencing an explosion in its use within areas such as the web and mobile apps , multimedia platforms , games , phones , SFX , TV and film . This course will develop your 3D computer modelling and animation skills through the extensive use of industry-leading software including Autodesk 3D Studio Max & Maya , Adobe Premiere , Photoshop & After Effects , and Animate .
Entry Requirements
One of the following :
Three National 5s at Grade C or above
Working towards - Two Highers at Grade C or above , in subjects such as Art , English , Computing , or Graphic Communication
Advanced Certificate or National Certificate : Computer Games Development SCQF Level 6
Relevant industry experience and / or other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis

The main aims of the HNC in Computer Arts and Design are to underpin specific knowledge for the candidate studying art and design in a digital context . The course has four main areas of enquiry : 2D design , 3D design , fine art and time-based art .
Entry Requirements
One of the following
One Higher at Grade C or above in English , Computing Science , Graphic Communication , Art and Design , or Drama ; plus National 5 English at Grade C or above
NC : Computer Games ; Creative Development ( and Animation ) SCQF 6
Other relevant art / digital art based SCQF 6 course
Relevant portfolio of work showing an aptitude for computing / design
You must demonstrate a portfolio of previous work displaying examples of art and design work including digital or traditional art , animation or digital design competency .
You are required to have a basic level of competency in ICT .
