ANALYAING LEARNERS’ WEAKNESSES Needs Analysis Language Need Analysis is the process of identifying and evaluating needs in learning any language. The identification of needs is a process of describing “problems or weaknesses” of a target language and possible solutions to these problems. In this session, you will be assessed for four language skills: listening, speaking, reading and grammar. When you finish each test, please write the score level you have got in the “Diagnostic Test Score table” below. 1. Diagnostic Test Score Listening Speaking Reading Grammar Total ÷ 4 /4 = The example of calculation is as follows: Listening = 7 Speaking = 4 Reading = 6 Grammar = 8 If the decimal point is greater than 0.5, just round up to the greater number (5.75 => 6).
