All 13 acute trusts in Yorkshire and the Humber have been supported to implement Martha’ s Rule, through our Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Collaborative.

Martha’ s Rule supports the early detection of deterioration by ensuring the concerns of patients, families, carers and staff are listened to and acted upon.
In addition, we are leading a national pilot of Martha’ s Rule in nine emergency departments across the country.“ Working with the Yorkshire and Humber Patient Safety Collaborative has been nothing less than a compassionate, innovate and collaborative experience for me as a consultant leading the regional pilot for implementation of Martha’ s Rule in paediatric medicine.
