People with Mental Health Challenges in Bucks offered Free Employment Support Buckinghamshire Mind’s Employment Support Service has been given a boost by National Lottery Funding. Buckinghamshire Mind has joined the Bucks County Wide Building Futures Partnership, which is funded by The Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund, as part of a programme to drive local jobs and employment. The Building Futures Partnership brings together a wide range of providers in partnership to change the lives of disadvantaged adults and young people. Buckinghamshire Mind’s Employment Support Service will work with people who are furthest from the labour market, offering free support to build their confidence for a future in the world of work. Support will include 1:1 sessions focusing on individual employment goals, careers guidance, work specific courses, emotional support, peer support groups, mindfulness courses, help filling in applications, cover letter writing and interview skills. “Our Employment Support Service will empower people to make changes in their lives to move them in, or closer, to work. This funding from The Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund is a unique and sought-after chance to deliver support which is participant-centred, a true partnership, removing barriers and bureaucracy to ensure the participant journey is tailored and effective. We will change lives; for individuals, families, communities and society.” Andrea McCubbin, Chief Executive of Buckinghamshire Mind The project will support at least 40 people in Buckinghamshire with mental health challenges who are furthest from work to move in, or closer, to a learning or work destination. There will be a particular focus on those aged 50+.
