Dinner
at the

Riverlight is an independently owned hidden
gem of a restaurant located by Bourne End
Marina. Situated on the upper floor it has
heated outdoor seating with great views over
the River Thames. With only river traffic and
walkers passing by it’s a quiet location that
allows for a calm, relaxed,
fine dining experience. There
is parking available on site.
The restaurant is bright
and airy with windows
on 3 sides and a centrally
located bar. Background
acoustic, classic and modern
music established a buzzing
atmosphere, but at a level
where diners could happily
hear each other chat.
Needing to check the allergen
options I was impressed by

the knowledge of the waiting staff who were
quickly able to answer all my questions. The
appetiser gluten-free bread was particularly
delicious.
Venison Loin Carpaccio served with a
chocolate and quail scotch
egg sounded too tempting to
miss, as did the 8oz flat iron
steak. Interestingly, for fine
dining, the steak was very
reasonably priced at just £18
and it included two sides as
well. Needless to say the food
was beautifully presented,
the steak was cooked to
perfection, and the quantity
was just right.
Brussel Sprouts are a
personal favourite of mine,
and shouldn’t be kept just
