, s your local choir needs you! e i d a L ‘The Heath Singers’ ladies’ choir has been singing for enjoyment and pleasure for 46 years in and around Flackwell Heath and the High Wycombe area. The choir was formed and is conducted by Peggy Woolhouse, accompanied by Jan Churchouse. We are well known locally for our regular concerts at Christmas and in the summer, (in which we offer young musicians an opportunity to perform in a supportive environment). We also share concerts with other ensembles including brass bands and male voice choirs, and, occasionally, we invite visiting voice experts to work with us and enrich the choir experience. repertoire includes music sung in two to four parts; an ability to read music is an advantage, though not obligatory. The emphasis is on lighter music; our current focus is on carols for our Christmas concert which will take place in Christ Church, Flackwell Heath on December 1st and 2nd. You are welcome to attend one of our Wednesday evening rehearsals at 7.30 in The Methodist Church Hall, Flackwell Heath (term time only). Most of our concert profits go to local charities. To date we have raised over £50,000. We are a sociable group, enjoying gatherings as well as attending workshops arranged by professional musicians.
