May 2014 Letter from the Editor Featured this month is an inspirational story from local resident Susan Bullock (see page 5) about how one trip to the hairdressers really can make a difference to someone else’s life. If you have a story like this to tell please let us know about it. Our ‘5 minutes with ….’ interview this month is with local author D.S. Affleck (yes he has a brother called Ben but he isn’t the famous acting one). I was accompanied by Wooburn Green resident Cameron Gregory, who is currently studying at Southampton University. Cameron has a career in journalism planned so I thought it would be a good idea to get these two together. The resulting interview makes a good read, see for yourself on page 48. Well done Cameron and congratulations to Dominic too on his first ever interview as an Author. There are so many events featured in this magazine this month (see overleaf for the full list) I would like to encourage you to support the local community wherever possible. The range of events is so diverse there is definitely something for everyone, from opera to pantomime, birthday parties to Scottish music and dance to free cocktails and a Call My Bluff evening.
