F L AC K W E L L L O C A L A R E A His to r y G ro u p Monday 19th March 2018, from 7.30pm, at the Flackwell Heath Library HIGH WYCOMBE’S CONTRIBUTION TO AVIATION with Dave Scott Dave will begin by considering events before WW1 and move onto the manufacture of aeroplane parts by the local furniture factories in WW1. Then he will consider events between the wars, such as Sir Alan Cobham’s Flying Circus, Amy Johnson who lived locally, and the Bourne End Flying Field. Finally, the major manufacture of aeroplane parts in the town`s furniture factories in WW2, especially the de Havilland Mosquito, will be described. This is a ticketed event. The tickets are now available at the library and are £5 (£3 to friends of FHCL). Please note that tickets will not be available on the night.
