How To Be The Perfect Weight Manager
Abracadabra! Oh blast – it doesn’t work like that! If only it did.
Weight – I think the biggest
misconception about being a
good weight manager is the
belief that you have to be the
perfect weight every day of your
life. Well bodies don’t work
like that and your weight will
naturally vary over a month – it
will vary anyway whether you
weigh yourself in the morning
or the evening irrespective of
what you eat. Just try it yourself
and see if you don’t believe me.
And for women, your menstrual
cycle will affect your weight
and you need to take this into
account for your personal
weight management regime.
This monthly variation in your
weight can continue for some
women way past the menopause
too. What can you do? Well
one way of approaching your
weight for men and women is
to set yourself a safety zone – of
somewhere around 4-7lb – to
allow your weight to fluctuate.
If your weight goes over your
higher limit, then you intervene
either by reducing your intake of
conventional food for a period
or, if necessary, using foodpacks
to quickly bring your weight back
within your safety zone. Your
permanently thin friends do this
without thinking or even being
conscious that they are doing it
in many cases. Some will do it in
full awareness though.
Eating – You cannot, nor would
we ever demand, that you eat
the perfect diet every day of
your life. Sharing food with
loved ones is a lovely thing
to do provided it is not our
only source of socialising and
contact with others. Occasional
over-indulgence is natural
and good weight managers
compensate by making different
food choices that take into
account the over consumption
so that the calorific intake
is balanced out over several
