The Gardening - Holtspur
Club
Primary School
This month I am leaving my compost heap and getting on my soapbox to
tell you about a very worthy cause. The Curzon Centre in Beaconsfield will
no longer be able to provide all it does for our community unless it can raise
£20,000 a year to stay open. It appears all of it’s funding has been removed.
The centre is used by around 1000 people a week, it’s home to sports events,
classes, theatre, parties, charitable events and much more. Holtspur School’s
music teacher Mark Selwood has helped to organise a concert to raise money
for this vital meeting place. The concert will feature some extremely talented
young musicians from across Bucks and also “Accidental Harmonies”, under
the direction of Helen Selwood, which is a very talented community choir. They
were so good when I first saw them that they made me cry ! So, if you want to
help stop this centre closing for good, and have a wonderful night out please
come along. I will be the lady at the back with a huge box of tissues !
