What Lexie Loves... http://whatlexieloves.blogspot.co.uk/ As the weather gets warmer and we move into Summer, I know one of the things I enjoy is getting out and about. Whether it’s to the local park, another town or even a city. For example, London. London has always been one of my favourite places. I was born there and am a true city girl at heart. This means my family and I often take trips down to the ‘City’. In fact, in May, my mum, sister and I went to Mayfair to stay in an AMAZING hotel there: The Athenaeum. We were staying in a Parkview room, a gorgeous and spacious area overlooking Green Park, with the comfiest beds! And, the food was lovely, especially the wide range of choices at breakfast! Near Green Park, Hamley’ and Buckingham Palace, the hotel is also in a great location. But, the s best thing of all: the hotel has a kids’ concierge, perfect for families. This feature really enhanced our experience, offering us a selection of DVDs, a Wii and Playstation console, games, activities, Frisbees, scooters, popcorn and anything else we desired! The unique facility really makes staying with children a whole load easier, so if you are a family looking for a great hotel in London, I would definitely recommend The Athenaeum hotel! www.athenaeumhotel.com If you’re visiting London here are some of my suggestions of places to go to: London Eye A classic. I went with my friends and we all agree, it was great! The pod is a lot bigger than you expect leaving enough room for over 20 people. It is located in the Southbank area where you can find various different hotels, bars, restaurants and many other facilities. Imperial War Museum As we were studying World War 1 at school, our class took a trip to London’ Imperial s War Museum, to look at the World War 1 exhibition and find out about how people’ s everyday lives were affected by the war. I must mention how amazing the exhibition was. The information was presented in amazing ways with not just artefacts but also films, games, diaries and even a trench replica. I would DEFINITELY go back if I could and look round the World War 2 showing as well. Museum of London While we’re talking about museums, another great one I visited recently was the Museum Of London. It basically took you through the history of London, right from the Roman times, to the 2012 Olympic Games. Again, like the Imperial War Museum, all the information was set out perfectly with short 5 minute films and walk-in replicas. Another must-visit for history lovers. They are so many other places to list, I couldn’t possibly mention all of them; let me know if you go to any of the places, and enjoy!
