It is trending now to raise money for charity by going teetotal for the month of January, although this seems a bit extreme to me, plus all those half bottles need finishing up now and it would be a shame to waste them! My resolutions often take the form of tying up loose ends, finishing off something I had started way back the previous year. When the Christmas decorations are taken down the house inevitably looks bare and empty, and this highlights all the other types of decoration that now need attention, such as paintwork. Luckily, we have lots of local businesses in this magazine who are happy to help with these chores. We have handymen to get those shelves finally put up, painters who can finish off the skirting boards, electricians to fix that dodgy security light, plumbers to fix the dripping tap and gardeners who can design and create the perfect garden for you to sit in when the Spring arrives, plus lots more. However if the end of the festive season and all that it brings seems too much for you to bare then help is on hand with the Barefoot Counsellor who will gently offer emotional coaching and counselling to get you mentally fit and ready for 2015.
