Party food means different things in different homes, so that’s why we offer a wide
range of party food to suit everyone’s budget and taste, but always with the quality
you expect from Waitrose.
Obviously, the pre-ordered selection of party
food in the Entertaining section of our website
offers multiple ideas for the Christmas planner,
with lead times which are suitable for delivery
or pick up in store. However, many of us, myself
included, have family and friends who drop in
unannounced (or maybe they did mention it?) so
be ready to offer your guests a bite to eat at the
drop of a hat.
A simple spread and freshly baked bread from
our in-store bakery (my personal favourite are
the Gruyere and Chive rustique rolls), cold cuts
of Waitrose British Wiltshire cured oak smoked
ham, Waitrose British pastrami and/or Waitrose
British Malay inspired roast chicken mini fillets
with a selection of cheeses and chutneys, will
feed even the most hungry of relatives.
Maybe it’s your turn to host an impromptu
New Year’s Eve Party? We can help! How about
Waitrose 1 Drycured bacon & cheddar sausage
rolls, Waitrose Ind ian snack selection, which
will take all of 10-12 minutes in the oven, with
Waitrose Tzatziki plus Waitrose caramelised
onion houmous with warmed pitta.
For some easy canapes, I choose Waitrose blinis,
lightly toasted (cool before you load toppings)
with cream cheese, Waitrose Scottish smoked
salmon pieces, fresh dill and a grind of black
pepper. Couldn’t be quicker to make.

However, if you want to get the family involved,
i.e. keep the kids busy, unlock their creativity and
serve up baked potatoes and DIY pizzas.
A bag of Essential Waitrose Baked Potatoes,
a dollop of our Essential Soured Cream and
freshly chopped chives will jazz up a simple
jacket spud. Using our delicious Waitrose Sweet
