Chernobyl
Children
Life Line,
Chiltern Link
When: July 2014
Who? Host families to
provide a welcoming
home for children
aged between
10-12yrs from the
29th June and depart
on the 27th July. We
organise an extensive
activity programme
for the duration of
their visit avoiding the
need for hosts to take
leave to look after the
children. Typically,
families host for 2
week slots or for the
whole month.
Why? The heavy radioactive contamination
from the Chernobyl reactor disaster in
1986 still affects Belarus’s food chain and
environment, causing health issues. The
break allows the children to escape the
contamination and eat and live in a clean
environment. This boosts the children’s
immune systems and their general health.
The benefits are long lasting and welcomed
by the children and their parents. For the
children it represents the chance of a
lifetime and by hosting you can make a real
difference to their lives and hopefully have
some fun along the way!
