Letter from the Editor

See page 9 for their article
I’ve got a bit of an animal theme going
on this month. There are lots of volunteer
opportunities available at the Hearing Dogs
for Deaf People charity and the RSPCA South
Bucks branch, including in their Chesham,
Burnham and Princes Risborough shops.
Isn’t kitten Joey adorable(see page 10)? How
could someone not want to give him a home?
James and Chenice from JC Farming have
sent us another snippet about life on the farm.
I couldn’t resist using one of their photographs
for this month’s front cover. You can read their
article on page 8.

If you want to avoid the oncoming autumn
blues maybe pay a visit to the Amersham
Travel Club (see page 57). They have some
really interesting, informative, evenings and I
personally love to hear about other people’s
holidays. It’s always good to put some exotic
location on the bucket list.
There’s another Chiltern Walking Festival
taking place mid Sept-mid October. (see page
19). I will certainly be going along and joining
in with a few of these walks. The walks are
guided so there isn’t any stress about getting
lost.
Roy and I took ourselves off to Brill in the
Aylesbury Vale district recently. What a lovely
little village this is. I wasn’t prepared for the
5ft high stinging nettles though and we did
get a little bit lost. But it all ended
well. You can read about our
afternoon out in this month’s
centre pages.
Wherever you wander this
month, stay safe.
Helen
