October to me means the nights are drastically
drawing in, the living room is warmed by an open
fire AND ….. Strictly Come Dancing is back on TV!
Is anyone else a fan of this BBC1 show?
We actually tried ballroom dancing classes a
few years ago. I loved them, but my husband
wasn’t so keen. However, recently, whilst under
the influence of a few beers, he said he would
consider us taking up lessons again. Honestly, we
had a great laugh, the lessons were good exercise,
the evenings were very sociable, and they got us
out of the house on a cold winter’s night.
In our Wooburn edition (you can view this online
www.hiyabucks.com or pick up a copy from
Waitrose Handy Cross for example) you will find
two local dance schools advertising their classes.
In our class the other couples ranged in age from
their 20’s right through to retirement and beyond.
These classes are suitable for one and all. If you
are tempted please give them a call and see where
the most local class to you is based. You’ll see
we’ve placed one advert on page SEVEN – we
couldn’t resist doing that – and the other one is on
page TEN.
On a totally different note … I thought I would give
you all a laugh this month! I’ve been known over
the years to drag my wedding dress out of the loft
and try it on. So …. for this month’s Outfit of the
Month feature I thought I’d show you me wearing
my dress, well, kind of wearing my dress – it isn’t
zipped up! I did get married in 1990! For those of
you who have also kept your wedding dress try it
on and send me a photo. I promise I won’t print
them, unless you want me to, but it’ll give you a
good excuse to reminisce about the day you said “I
will”. And it will amuse your kids! We love the
programme “Say YES to the
Dress” in our house and I’m
pretty sure lots of you do too.
Whatever you get up to in
the month of October enjoy
yourselves and stay safe.
