What Lexie Loves...
The Stunning and
Sunning Croatia
Back in April my family and I had a short break away in Dubrovnik, Croatia.
We stayed in a lovely Radisson Blu hotel near the beautiful city of Dubrovnik.
There were 4 swimming pools, two open which we spent a LOT of our time
in. There were also lots of restaurants in the hotel although as it was out
of season very few were actually open.
So if you visit (which you absolutely
must) then I’d recommend going in later
Spring or Summer. As well as those, they
had a brilliant garden – a beach which
was great even though it wasn’t sandy.
I loved climbing the rocks there with
my siblings. Overall, it was definitely
a fantastic hotel which I’d go back
to anytime.
The city itself was absolutely
amazing and I can’t begin to tell you how
marvellous all the views were. Lots of churches, statues and monuments were
everywhere and the city walls stood proudly in Dubrovnik. The city’s old town
was lovely too with loads of little cafes and tourist shops around. To start a
collection I bought a sweet fan with a picture of Dubrovnik on so whenever
I’m a bit grumpy I just get the fan and remember all the beauty of this
amazing city.
One of the days we walked the city walls – big, tall, sturdy walls surrounding
and protecting the old town of Dubrovnik. It was tough but spectacular: on
one side we overlooked the Adriatic Sea and we could see the light glistening
on the water. Looking over to the other side we could see all the rooftops of
the Old Town buildings. The weather was our one disadvantage, normally
I do love sun but when you’re walking round for a long time it is
hard enough without the sun getting you all hot, sweaty and tired.
Halfway through there was a small café which we popped in for a
refreshing drink in the cool cave. But don’t ask; the weather wouldn’t
ruin that day, it HAD to be worth it.
In the city were cable cars which went right over the great city.
Unfortunately, only being in Croatia for a few days meant there
wasn’t enough time to go on one but if I visit again I would certainly
go on one knowing how thrilling an experience it would be.
Our holiday was a massive success and I’d definitely visit again if I
had the opportunity. It was a super vacation and I’d recommend it to
anyone. Kids, babies, adults and teens should certainly go to Dubrovnik
if they are lucky enough to have the chance. I especially recommend
Radisson Blu Resort & Spa with its great pools, treatment centre,
its beach and sport centre not to forget the amazing private
beach.
If you go to Croatia I can guarantee that you’ll love it.
