Winter is on the way and we have been busy bringing
our geraniums into the greenhouse and taking our root
vegetables out! I have also had the pleasure of visiting
another school garden in the area. Linda Gladwin from
Tylers Green First School very kindly invited me over to see
their garden after she had visited ours last term. To get
the chance to see another schools garden is always worth
the visit as you can easily pick up new ideas. They have a
fabulous “private wood” there which I’m very jealous of
and each class has their own vegetable bed.
Linda has obviously worked incredibly hard and her passion
for it is infectious. We have since been swapping seeds and
I’m sure when we both have some spare time we will meet
up again. Thank you Linda.
Back home I am trying to teach myself some basic willow
weaving skills. For a while now I have not only wanted to
learn myself but I’ve also wanted to teach the children how
to make willow decorations and with Christmas coming
I have the perfect opportunity. Wish me luck and next
month you will be able to see if I have at least partly
managed to master this new skill, or bitten off more
than I can chew.
Fingers crossed.

P.S. I’d like to say congratulations from our
Gardening Club to the team at Beaconsfield
Garden Centre for their fabulous Christmas
display. They are so good to our gardening club
I would like to mention them and suggest you go
and visit their display, it’s wonderful.
