Buckinghamshire Mind
Launches Support for people
with Young Onset Dementia
Care in Mind are a series of courses which have been launched by
Buckinghamshire Mind to support people with Young Onset Dementia
(under the age of 65).
The courses aim to help people to
continue to live well with Young Onset
Dementia and to maintain wellbeing.
They will be an opportunity for
participants to meet others, share
experiences and have fun participating in
a variety of physical activities, tailored to
a beginner level.
“The emphasis of these courses is
very much on ‘fun’. Having a Young
Onset Dementia diagnosis can be
devastating, but it’s really important
to continue to live well and enjoy an
active and fulfilled life.”
Penny Crosswell, Care in Mind Co-ordinator,
Buckinghamshire Mind
The six-week courses will be held once a
week for two hours and will take place at three
venues:
The courses are open to anyone with a Young
Onset Dementia diagnosis and each participant is
encouraged to bring a companion, friend or family
member with them to the sessions.
