MAY 2017
Letter from the Editor
Features Writer Lucy Payne Hiya Bucks’ ethos has always been to
support independent businesses based in
Buckinghamshire. With this in mind, we set
off last weekend to visit Waddesdon Artisan
Market. It has just re-opened for the 2017
season and we had a great time browsing the
various stalls and chatting to Bucks business
owners, including, of course, making many
purchases. There are still some stalls available
for hire if you are a Buckinghamshire producer
that fancies promoting your products. It really
is a great market, set in the beautiful grounds
of Waddesdon Manor; have a look at my article
on pages 32-34.
There are many events taking place locally
in May, with something to suit all tastes.
From the Festival of Football in Flackwell
Heath, to the Jadi Art Exhibition taking place
in Beaconsfield’s newest fashion boutique,
Madam Spotlight, to Bucks Open Studios and
the Chilterns Walking Festival. There are too
many to mention here so please have a browse
through the pages of this month’s magazine
and see what takes your fancy.
If you can’t find something for you please
take a look at our website which features all
manner of things we haven’t got room for
in the magazines. Over the last few years I
have established fabulous links with all sorts
of organisations in Buckinghamshire so add
www.hiyabucks.com to your favourites and
don’t miss out on useful local information.
Wherever you find yourselves visiting this
month stay safe, enjoy and relax
in the sunshine. At the time
of going to print we are on
the verge of a hosepipe ban –
I hope I am not tempting fate
mentioning the sun!
