Restaurant Review
The Swan has just undergone a major refurbishment . It has been tastefully styled , with luxurious fixtures and fittings , providing a very pleasant dining experience .
We were seated at a lovely window table on the ground floor but , being our nosy selves , we took a sneaky peek at the upstairs dining area . The quirky corners , low ceilings and exposed beams create a more intimate , cosy dining experience and we would choose to sit here in future ; this section would also be great for large groups or private functions .
The menu is extensive and we were spoilt for choice . Everything sounds so delicious and it ’ s a feast for the eyes when served . We loved the crispy tortillas brought out with our drinks ; great hospitality .
The modern bar has plenty of comfy seating , is bright and airy , and leads onto the stunning garden . Ok , so it ’ s not so much of a garden but a beautifully styled patio with clever planting to hide the spacious rear

car park . There is ample seating with homely cushions , fleecy blankets , patio heaters and a unique fire pit . It looks so inviting we can ’ t wait to return and work our way through the cocktail menu .
Why not sign up for the Wednesday night wine club ( free to join ) and enjoy a choice of selected bottles of wine from the wine list reduced to either £ 10 or £ 15 , depending on your choice . That ’ s a good excuse to pop in for a mid-week treat isn ’ t it ?
Alternatively , rock up for a beer and some live music on selected Thursday nights where The Swan feature up-and-coming musicians ; we hear the next Ed Sheeran will be playing soon .
We would like to extend our thanks to Mel , our server , who made our evening very enjoyable . It ’ s nice to be served by someone who clearly enjoys their job and who takes pride in their work ; it makes such a difference don ’ t you think ?
We say put The Swan on your list of places to visit and you will not be disappointed .
Our top tip : Try the appetiser Crispy Karaaga Chicken , served with cucumber ribbons , mooli , grain salad and warm katsu sauce priced at just £ 6.75 .
Enjoy !
